Wirtschaftsminister Schulze als Gast beim Akademischen Kreis
Der Akademische Kreis ist ein Treffen der Professorenschaft aller Fakultäten der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, bei dem mit interessanten Gästen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre über bedeutende und aktuelle Themen diskutiert wird. Am 22. November wurde der Akademische Kreis im Gebäude des Forschungscampus STIMULATE veranstaltet und Herr Sven Schulze, Minister für Wirtschaft, Tourismus, Landwirtschaft und Forsten des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, nahm die Einladung dazu an.
In einem kurzen Impulsvortag über die Transformation der Wirtschaft im Land Sachsen-Anhalt plädierte der Minister dafür, die Landesfördermaßnahmen verstärkt auf Innovations- und Wachstumsbereiche zu konzentrieren, um durch Schwerpunktsetzung ein zukunftsorientiertes Innovations- und Wachstumsklima zu etablieren. Hierbei seien die Wissenschaftsinstitute und Hochschulen, allen voran die OVGU, zentrale Treiber und wichtige Partner des Landes. Auf Nachfrage von Mitgliedern des Akademischen Kreises erklärte er, dass er sich neben der Internationalisierung auch für die Förderung von Startups, die Bekämpfung des Fachkräftemangels, die Förderung der Geschlechtergleichheit, die Stärkung der Diversität, die Durchsetzung nachhaltiger Aufforstung und die Verbesserung der Infrastruktur im Lande - insbesondere auch die Bahnanbindung an Berlin - einsetzen werde.
Als Dank für die Vorstellung und das offene Gespräch überreichte Prof. Dr. Georg Rose dem Minister je eine Flasche des weißen und roten OVGU-Weins, den der Akademische Kreis seinerzeit auswählte und dem Rektor als Universitätswein vorschlug. Im Anschluss wurde in einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre mit lokalen Getränken und Imbiss weiter diskutiert und vernetzt.

Minister of Economics Schulze as guest at the Academic Circle
The Academic Circle is a meeting of the professorship of all faculties of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, where important and current topics are discussed with interesting guests in a comfortable atmosphere. On November 22, the Academic Circle was held in the building of the research campus STIMULATE and Mr. Sven Schulze, Minister of Economy, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt, accepted the invitation.
In a short keynote speech about the transformation of the economy in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the minister pleaded for a stronger concentration of the state's support measures in innovation and growth areas in order to establish a future-oriented innovation and growth climate by setting priorities. In this context, the science institutes and universities, above all the OVGU, are central drivers and important partners of the state. In response to a question from members of the Academic Circle, he explained that in addition to internationalization, he would also work to promote startups, combat the shortage of skilled workers, promote gender equality, strengthen diversity, enforce sustainable reforestation, and improve infrastructure in the state - including, in particular, rail connections to Berlin.
As a thank you for the presentation and the open discussion, Prof. Dr. Georg Rose presented the minister with a bottle each of the white and red OVGU wine, which the Academic Circle selected at the time and proposed to the rector as the university wine. Afterwards, there was further discussion and networking in a cozy atmosphere with local drinks and snacks.
