OVGU-Alumni zu Besuch am Forschungscampus
Anlässlich ihres des 30-jährigen Jubiläums lud die Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (OVGU) am 01. und 02. September alle Absolvent:innen der Universität zu einem Wiedersehen nach Magdeburg ein. In dem bunten Programm waren auch ein Vortrag von Dr. Thomas Hoffmann, dem Geschäftsführer des STIMULATE-Startups RAYDIAX und ein Besuch am Forschungscampus STIMULATE im Magdeburger Wissenschaftshafen enthalten.
Dr. Thomas Hoffmann blickte mit den Alumni auf mehr als 10 Jahre fokussierter Medizintechnikforschung der OVGU am Forschungscampus STIMULATE zurück. Auch aus eigenen Erfahrungen während seines akademischen Werdegangs an der OVGU referierte er über den spannenden Weg von der akademischen Ausbildung über die Forschung in die Wirtschaft. Er hob hervor, dass „der Forschungscampus einen weltweit einmaligen Nährboden für Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft bietet. Insbesondere interdisziplinäre Expertise, hochmoderne Infrastruktur und die Langfristigkeit der Projekte am Forschungscampus waren essenziell für die Gründung des Startups“. Gemeinsam mit 4 weiteren Alumni des Forschungscampus und der OVGU gründete Dr. Thomas Hoffmann RAYDIAX Anfang 2022 als Hersteller für bildgebende Operations-Assistenzsysteme aus dem Forschungscampus aus.
Während der Führung im Forschungscampus STIMULATE erhielten die Alumni Einblicke die moderne bildgeführte Medizintechnik. Wir bedanken uns herzlich für die interessierten Gespräche.
OVGU alumni visit the Research Campus
On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (OVGU) invited all alumni of the university to a reunion in Magdeburg on September 1st and 2nd. The colorful program included a lecture by Dr. Thomas Hoffmann, CEO of the STIMULATE startup RAYDIAX and a visit to the Research Campus STIMULATE in Magdeburg's Port of Science.
Dr. Thomas Hoffmann looked back with the alumni on more than 10 years of focused medical technology research of the OVGU at the Research Campus STIMULATE. Also, from his own experiences during his academic career at OVGU, he spoke about the exciting path from academic education to research to industry. He emphasized that "the Research Campus offers a globally unique breeding ground for science and business. In particular, interdisciplinary expertise, state-of-the-art infrastructure and the long-term nature of the projects at the research campus were essential for the foundation of the startup." Together with 4 other alumni of the Research Campus and the OVGU, Dr. Thomas Hoffmann founded RAYDIAX in early 2022 as a manufacturer for imaging surgical assistance systems from the Research Campus.
