STIMULATE-Startup RAYDIAX schließt erfolgreiche Seed-Phase im Kampf gegen Krebs
Am 26.10.2023 gab RAYDIAX, ein Startup des Forschungscampus STIMULATE, das Erreichen eines wichtigen Meilensteins zum Unternehmensaufbau bekannt: RAYDIAX sichert sich 3,5 Millionen Euro frisches Kapital zur Entwicklung eines Therapieassistenz-Computertomographen im Kampf gegen den Krebs. Mit dem Kapital wird die Entwicklung des ganzheitlichen Assistenzsystems für bildgeführte, minimal-invasive Krebseingriffe „TACT“ bis zum prä-klinischen Prototypen vorangetrieben und die Markterschließung in Europa und den USA forciert.
Dies ist ein wichtiges Ereignis für den Forschungscampus STIMULATE. Hinter dem Unternehmen RAYDIAX stehen fünf an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg und im Forschungscampus STIMULATE in unterschiedlichen Fachdisziplinen ausgebildete Wissenschaftler. Ihre Forschungsaktivitäten im Bereich der bildgeführten minimal-invasiven Medizin seit den Anfangsjahren des Forschungscampus mündeten 2022 in der Unternehmensgründung. Ein solcher Transfer von Forschungsergebnissen in die Anwendung ist ein bedeutendes Ziel von STIMULATE, das durch die aus der BMBF-Initiative „Forschungscampus“ entstandenen öffentlich-privaten Strukturen unterstützt wird.
Angesiedelt am Forschungscampus STIMULATE kann das öffentlich-private Netzwerk das Startup optimal in der Weiterentwicklung unterstützten. Hierbei kommen insbesondere das in STIMULATE angesammelte interdisziplinäre Wissen, die enge öffentlich-private Zusammenarbeit über Einrichtungsgrenzen hinweg und die technische Infrastruktur auf neustem Stand zum Tragen. Hier entwickelt RAYDIAX ein auf den Prinzipien der Computertomographie beruhendes Bildassistenzsystem zum Einsatz bei minimal-invasiven Krebsbehandlungen. Mit der Markteinführung des Therapieassistenz-CT „TACT“ strebt RAYDIAX eine erhebliche Ausweitung der Anwendung minimal-invasiver Therapien an und adressiert damit demographisch bedingte Herausforderungen in der Gesundheitsversorgung.
STIMULATE startup RAYDIAX closes successful seed phase in fight against cancer
On Oct. 26, 2023, RAYDIAX, a startup of the Research Campus STIMULATE, announced the achievement of an important milestone in building the company: RAYDIAX secures €3.5 million in fresh capital to develop a therapy assistance computed tomography system in the fight against cancer. The capital will be used to advance the development of the holistic assistance system for image-guided, minimally invasive cancer interventions "TACT" to the pre-clinical prototype stage and to accelerate market development in Europe and the USA.
This is an important event for the Research Campus STIMULATE. Within the RAYDIAX company there are five scientists trained in different disciplines at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and at the Research Campus STIMULATE. Their research activities in the field of image-guided minimally invasive medicine since the early years of the Research Campus resulted in the founding of the company in 2022. Such a transfer of research results into application is a significant goal of STIMULATE, which is supported by the public-private structures resulting from the BMBF initiative "Research Campus".
Located in the Research Campus STIMULATE, the public-private network can optimally support the startup in its further development. In particular, the interdisciplinary knowledge accumulated in STIMULATE, the close public-private cooperation across institution boundaries and the state-of-the-art technical infrastructure come to bear. Here, RAYDIAX is developing an image assistance system based on the principles of computed tomography for use in minimally invasive cancer treatments. With the market launch of the therapy assistance CT "TACT", RAYDIAX aims to significantly expand the use of minimally invasive therapies and thus address demographically related challenges in healthcare.
