Kick-off im EU-Projekt Agri-PET/MRI
Nachdem das EU-Projekt zum 01.11.2023 in die Projektumsetzung gestartet ist, begingen die Projektpartner zusammen mit der EU-Beauftragten gestern im Forschungscampus STIMULATE das abwechslungsreiche Kick-off-Meeting.
Das europäische Projektkonsortium, bestehend aus VRVis (Österreich), IBF Servizi (Italien), Innomed srl (Italien) und der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg zielt mit dem neuen Projekt auf die Etablierung einer neuen Bildgebungsmodalität, die verschiedene Stressfaktoren, wie Trockenheut und Nährstoffmangel, in Pflanzen frühzeitig anzeigen kann. Damit will das Projektteam einen Beitrag zum europäischen Green Deal leisten und gleichzeitig eine neue intereuropäische Wertschöpfungskette aufbauen. Der Gegenstand der Wertschöpfung wird eine innovative Kombination eines Positronen-Emissions-Tomographen mit einem Tabletop-Magnetresonanztomographen sein, welche zudem portabel und dadurch direkt im landwirtschaftlichen Feld einsetzbar sein wird. Während des Kick-off-Meetings tauschten sich die Projektpartner zu den Arbeitspaketen und deren Schnittpunkten untereinander aus. Die Inhalte für das Tabletop-MRI-Subsystem wurden direkt und hands-on im Tabletop-Labor des Forschungscampus STIMULATE vorgestellt. Auch die Themen PET, Visualisierung und Agrikultur wurden ins Detail aufgebreitet und dadurch für das gesamte Projektteam verständlich. Die EU-Beauftragte, welche das Projekt seitens des Europäischen Innovationsrats und der Exekutivagentur für KMU (EISMEA) betreut, gab dem Projektteam hilfreiche Tipps für die Projektumsetzung mit auf den Weg. Das sachsen-anhaltinische Wirtschaftsministerium und der Rektor der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg bekundeten die Wichtigkeit des Projekts für Land und Universität.
Kick-off for the EU Agri-PET/MRI project
After the EU project was launched on November 1, 2023, the project partners and the EU officer celebrated the varied kick-off meeting yesterday at the Research Campus STIMULATE.
The European project consortium, consisting of VRVis (Austria), IBF Servizi (Italy), Innomed srl (Italy) and Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, is aiming to establish a new imaging modality with the new project that can indicate various stress factors such as drought and nutrient deficiency in plants at an early stage. In this way, the project team wants to contribute to the European Green Deal and at the same time establish a new inter-European value chain. The object of value creation will be an innovative combination of a positron emission tomograph with a tabletop magnetic resonance tomograph, which will also be portable and can therefore be used directly in the agricultural field. During the kick-off meeting, the project partners discussed the work packages and their intersections. The content for the tabletop MRI subsystem was presented directly and hands-on in the tabletop laboratory at the Research Campus STIMULATE. The topics of PET, visualization and agriculture were also explained in detail, making them understandable for the entire project team. The EU officer supervising the project on behalf of the European Innovation Council and the Executive Agency for SMEs (EISMEA) gave the project team helpful tips for project implementation. The Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Rector of Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg emphasized the importance of the project for the state and the university.
