Von der Forschung in die Industrie: Medtech-Start-ups treffen Investoren im Forschungscampus
Der Austausch zwischen Start-ups und Investitionsinteressierten ist in der Branche Medizintechnik besonders wichtig, er befördert neue Innovation, den Technologietransfer und eine zügige Markteinführung von neuen Medizinprodukten, die dem Gesundheitssystem und allen daran Beteiligten – von Patient:innen über medizinisches Personal bis hin zu den Verwaltungsstrukturen – zugutekommen. Einen solchen inspirierenden Austausch veranstalteten am 29. Mai 2024 der Business Angels Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. zusammen mit dem Forschungscampus STIMULATE zwischen ansässigen Medtech-Startups und Business-Angels aus Sachsen-Anhalt.
Der Business Angels Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. eröffnete die Veranstaltung und Florian Klitsch begrüßte mit Julia Grünthal die Teilnehmenden, indem sie die Bedeutung von Innovation und Unternehmertum in der Medizintechnik hervorhoben. Im Anschluss daran hielt Prof. Rose, der Sprecher des Forschungscampus STIMULATE, eine Keynote-Speech zur Medizintechnik als stabile Wirtschaftssparte in Deutschland, für die anwendungsorientierte Forschung und Technologietransfer Hauptpfeiler sind. Insbesondere diese beiden Aktivitäten hat sich der Forschungscampus STIMULATE mit seinem privaten-öffentlichen-Partnernetzwerk auf die Fahnen geschrieben und etablierte unter anderem dadurch eine florierende Start-up-Kultur. Prof. Rose betonte, dass die Start-up-Teams aus dem Forschungscampus STIMULATE bestens vorbereitet seien und ihre Hightech-Produkte stets einen klinischen Bedarf erfüllen. Weitere Unterstützung finden die Start-ups auch beim Transfer-und-Gründer-Zentrum der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg.
Das Highlight der Veranstaltung war der Pitch von drei Start-ups, die in jeweils 2-3 Minuten ihre innovativen Produkte vorstellten. Diese Start-ups, alle hervorgegangen aus der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, präsentierten im Bereich der Medizintechnik. Zwei von ihnen haben ihre Wurzeln direkt im Forschungscampus STIMULATE. In separaten Räumlichkeiten wurden detaillierte Präsentation jedes Start-ups geboten, die Teams stellten ihre Technologien und Produkte vor, unterstützt durch Exponate und Demos, was tiefere Einblicke in die technischen Details und klinischen Anwendungsfälle der vorgestellten Hightech-Produkte bot. Begleitet von lockerem Netzwerken bei Getränken und Snacks fanden individuelle Investitionsgespräche statt. Die Teilnehmenden nutzten die Gelegenheit, um in den Pausen und nach dem inhaltlichen Teil in entspannter Atmosphäre Kontakte zu knüpfen und Ideen auszutauschen.
Der Forschungscampus STIMULATE ist stolz darauf, diesen Austausch zu fördern und die Brücke zwischen akademischer Forschung und industrieller Anwendung zu stärken. Wir freuen uns darauf zu sehen, wie sich die Netzwerke erweitern und welche zukünftigen Kooperationen und Innovationen aus diesem inspirierenden Tag hervorgehen werden.

From research to industry: medtech start-ups meet investors at the Research Campus Team spirit in the Elbauenpark - STIMULATE at the 2024 company relay
The exchange between start-ups and those interested in investing is particularly important in the medical technology sector, as it promotes new innovation, technology transfer and the rapid market launch of new medical products that benefit the healthcare system and everyone involved - from patients to medical staff and administrative structures. On May 29, 2024, Business Angels Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. and the Research Campus STIMULATE organized such an inspiring exchange between local medtech start-ups and business angels from Saxony-Anhalt.
Business Angels Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. opened the event and Florian Klitsch and Julia Grünthal welcomed the participants by emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in medical technology. Prof. Rose, the spokesperson for the Research Campus STIMULATE, then gave a keynote speech on medical technology as a stable economic sector in Germany, for which application-oriented research and technology transfer are the main pillars. The Research Campus STIMULATE with its private-public partner network is particularly committed to these two activities and has established a flourishing start-up culture as a result. Prof. Rose emphasized that the start-up teams from the Research Campus STIMULATE are well prepared and that their high-tech products always meet a clinical need. The start-ups also receive further support from the Transfer and Start-up Center at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
The highlight of the event was the pitch by three start-ups, each of which presented their innovative products in 2-3 minutes. These start-ups, all of which emerged from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, presented in the field of medical technology. Two of them have their roots directly in the Research Campus STIMULATE. In separate rooms, detailed presentations were given by each start-up, the teams presented their technologies and products, supported by exhibits and demos, which provided deeper insights into the technical details and clinical use cases of the high-tech products presented. Accompanied by relaxed networking over drinks and snacks, individual investment discussions took place. Participants took the opportunity to make contacts and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere during the breaks and after the substantive part of the event.
The Research Campus STIMULATE is proud to promote this exchange and strengthen the bridge between academic research and industrial application. We look forward to seeing how the networks expand and what future collaborations and innovations will emerge from this inspiring day.
